Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Piotr Redinov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Liveser Rubino! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Redinov checks a low kick from Rubino. Redinov wants to clinch. Redinov checks a low kick from Rubino. Rubino throws a leg kick that misses. Rubino throws a leg kick and Redinov holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Redinov lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Redinov. Redinov lands a nice elbow. A right hook to the body lands for Rubino.
Rubino can't break the clinch.
Rubino has had enough of the clinch but Redinov keeps him there for the moment. Rubino is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Rubino is trying to force a seperation but Redinov has the dominant position. Rubino is trying to break the clinch but Redinov has him pressed against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Redinov lands an elbow just above Rubino 's eye. Rubino dodges an elbow strike from Redinov.
Rubino wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Redinov has him pressed against the cage. Redinov pushes off an throws an elbow but Rubino leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Rubino looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Redinov pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Rubino is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Rubino blocks an elbow strike from Redinov.
Redinov keeps control of Rubino as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Redinov lands an elbow that stopped Rubino in his tracks for a moment. Redinov lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
It looks like Liveser Rubino has been cut. Rubino blocks the elbow strike.
Redinov lands an elbow just above Rubino 's eye.
Rubino is rocked! A frustrated look appears on Rubino's face as he tries to break the clinch. Rubino is still on wobbly legs! Can Redinov finish him? Redinov has Rubino pressed against the cage. He pushes Rubino back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Redinov throws a beautiful elbow that sends Rubino crashing to the floor! Redinov piles on the pressure with more strikes! Rubino is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Piotr Redinov!
