Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tiao Macale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ogami Itto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Macale comes to the cage accompanied by Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Ogami Itto enters the cage!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
54 - 22 - 1, fighting out of New York, Tiao Macale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Ogami Itto!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, David Schapiro and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Itto looks to land a combination but Macale avoids it well.
Macale wants to land a leg kick but Itto is out of range.
A head kick misses from Itto.
Itto checks a leg kick nicely.
Itto misses with a takedown
and Macale counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Itto darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Macale is looking to improve his position.
Macale trying to control but Itto postures up.
Macale is pressing down on Itto's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Itto throwing strikes but missing.

Itto sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Macale's guard.
Macale is trying to maintain the position but Itto is very close to passing his half guard.
Itto wants to pass to mount but Macale is defending the position.

Macale avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Itto.
Itto throwing shots but Macale is blocking nicely.

Itto looking to sit in guard and control but Macale gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Macale stops Itto from standing up.

Itto is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Macale stands and throws Itto's legs to the side, diving into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Macale is staying tight to Itto's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Itto tries to buck Macale off but Macale is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Itto is not content to let Macale control the position.
Itto sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Itto keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Well, if Macale is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Macale has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Still in half guard, Macale seems content to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Tiao Macale wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Itto misses with the combination.
Itto shoots in looking for a takedown but Macale manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Itto's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A nice combination there by Itto.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Itto shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Macale's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Macale pulls Itto in close to his closed guard and prevents Itto from doing any damage or advancing position.
Macale tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ogami Itto will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Itto takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Itto tries to score a power double leg takedown but Macale sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Itto somewhat.

Itto throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Macale throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Macale scores with the left hand. Itto knows he should have avoided that one.
It looks like Ogami Itto has been cut.
Macale tries to land a leg kick but Itto saw it coming and moves away.
Itto on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Itto is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A thudding body kick lands there by Macale!
Macale throws a leg kick which misses Itto's front leg but catches the back leg as Itto tries to avoid it.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Itto crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Macale - the referee stops the clock and Itto gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Macale. Itto manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Macale fakes the leg kick and cracks Itto in the body.
Macale scores with a push kick.
Macale slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Itto misses with a double jab
and Macale counters with a slapping leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Itto takes one on the button.
Macale misses with a body kick.
Macale punishes Itto's body with a nice straight punch.
Macale ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Macale.
Ogami Itto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Macale moves into range and connects with a jab.
Itto misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Macale takes a swing at Itto's ribcage but misses.
A solid body kick from Macale.
Macale lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Macale throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Macale throws a low kick, looking for Itto's leg but Itto calmly moves out of range.
Macale throws a half hearted mid kick.
Macale throws a low kick but Itto avoids it.
Macale walks into a stiff left hand from Itto.
A head kick misses from Macale.
A slapping body kick lands there for Macale.
Itto has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Macale.
Macale thumps Itto with a low kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Macale.
Macale swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Itto.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Macale pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Macale misses with a kick to the body.
Macale lands with a thumping leg kick.
No luck for Itto with that takedown attempt.
Tiao Macale has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ogami Itto.
Itto scores with a one two! Macale had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Macale is looking to slow Itto down with leg kicks.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Itto checks a leg kick.
Itto shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Macale throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Itto's head.
That has opened up Ogami Itto's cut even more.
Macale's Muay Thai looks sharper than normal. He has obviously been working on it in the gym.
Tiao Macale is winning the standup battle so far.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Itto looks to score with a jab to the body but Macale is just out of range.
Macale lands a brutal head kick. Itto looks out on his feet and Macale throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

Tiao Macale was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
