McCormick comes to the cage accompanied by Shipping up to Boston. Christopher McCormick could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Pj Veenstra's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Christopher McCormick!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pj Veenstra!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Veenstra gets tackled into the cage by McCormick. McCormick maintains the clinch.
McCormick lands a left hand that snaps the head of Veenstra backwards.
McCormick managing to block the knees to the body from Veenstra.
McCormick has a couple of punches blocked by Veenstra.
Veenstra's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Veenstra takes a shot to the head.
McCormick lands a hook to the side of the head.
A head punch on the inside from McCormick fails to land.
McCormick gets underhooks to prevent Veenstra's takedown attempt.

Veenstra gets control of McCormick's arms and successfully pulls guard. Veenstra will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Veenstra is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McCormick is aware though and is defending well.
McCormick stays in close to Veenstra's body and controls the position.
McCormick has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Veenstra trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Veenstra working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McCormick doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McCormick manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
McCormick is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

We're going to have a standup here because Christopher McCormick wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
The fighters circling - Veenstra throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
McCormick lands a head shot.
McCormick scores with a nice right hand.
Veenstra throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McCormick sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Veenstra rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and McCormick counters with a good low kick that Veenstra was not able to check.
McCormick throws a head kick that misses.
McCormick sizes up Veenstra with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
McCormick scores with a shot to the body.
Veenstra throws a series of punches but McCormick moves out of range.
Nice body punch from McCormick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Veenstra lands with a good body shot.
Veenstra throws a jab when McCormick was well out of range.
McCormick fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Veenstra manages to avoid it.
McCormick avoids the body shot from Veenstra.
McCormick scoring well with a low kick there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McCormick lands with a nice body punch.
Veenstra moves out of range of the strikes.
Veenstra has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Veenstra there as he acknowledges the shot.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Veenstra lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and McCormick has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from McCormick and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
McCormick cracks the inside of Veenstra's front leg.
Veenstra bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
McCormick throws a good cross that connects.
McCormick lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Veenstra lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
McCormick jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.


Veenstra is rocked!
Veenstra thows a body shot but no joy.
Veenstra is still on wobbly legs! Can McCormick finish him?
Veenstra swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
McCormick drops Veenstra with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Veenstra! McCormick dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Christopher McCormick!
Christopher McCormick retains his lightweight title!
A relieved looking Christopher McCormick thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
