Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vern Moses (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Haskens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ed Haskens will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vern Moses! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ed Haskens! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Winston Howard and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moses fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Haskens sprawls well initially but Moses persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Haskens is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Haskens can do anything to dispel that myth. Haskens slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Haskens preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Haskens keeping moving, preventing Moses from controlling successfully. Moses would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Moses has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Haskens controlling the position. Moses trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Moses wanted to stand there but Haskens had control of the position. Haskens looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Moses with a flurry of punches that miss. Haskens seems keen to control Moses's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Moses closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Haskens to the mat! Haskens manages to get full guard. Moses trying to control but Haskens is working from the bottom. Haskens manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Moses manages to get himself to full guard.
Haskens tries to free his leg and advance position but Moses is retaining full guard. Haskens is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Haskens postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Moses is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Haskens, into his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Moses is fighting to break Haskens's control of his arms but Haskens is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Moses is looking to stand up but Haskens won't let him. Moses preventing the sweep. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Haskens has his hands on Moses's head, controlling the position. Haskens is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Moses pushes Haskens off looking to stand but Haskens dives back in and keeps control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haskens wants to pass to mount but Moses is defending the position. Haskens has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Haskens looking to control but Moses is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Haskens cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Haskens lands a heavy elbow. Haskens unloading with bombs!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Haskens lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Moses hang on? This has been an exciting period of action! Haskens landing strikes, looking to finish! Moses takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Moses is breathing heavily. Haskens landing shots from mount.
Moses is rocked! Haskens loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Moses scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Haskens land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Haskens stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ed Haskens! A relieved looking Ed Haskens thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
