Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Percy Whitley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marty Stephensson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Percy Whitley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Marty Stephensson!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stephensson connects with a high kick.


It looks like Percy Whitley has been cut.
Stephensson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Stephensson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Stephensson misses with a head kick.
Stephensson explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Whitley pushes Stephensson up against the cage in a clinch.
Whitley wants to take the fight to the mat but Stephensson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Whitley really is a fat lump.
Whitley has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Stephensson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Whitley has Stephensson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Stephensson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Percy Whitley. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Whitley pulls guard effortlessly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Whitley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stephensson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stephensson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Whitley pushes Stephensson off and gets back to his feet.
Stephensson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Stephensson tries a low kick but Whitley avoids it.
Stephensson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Marty Stephensson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stephensson throws a leg kick but Whitley sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Stephensson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Stephensson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Stephensson throws a head kick that Whitley semi-blocks.
Stephensson looks winded!
Whitley takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Stephensson pivots, looking for a leg kick but Whitley is out of range and Stephensson settles back down.
Stephensson misses with a low kick.
Stephensson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Stephensson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Stephensson tries a head kick but it misses.
Stephensson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Stephensson is looking to land body kicks.
Whitley connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Stephensson throws a sloppy head kick and Whitley moves out of range easily.
Whitley throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stephensson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Whitley.
Stephensson tries a head kick but it misses.

Whitley clinches up against the cage.

Whitley turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Whitley manages to end up in side control.
Whitley lands a decent elbow from side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Whitley is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Stephensson looks calm but he's in trouble here. Whitley gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Stephensson is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Whitley lets go of the hold and Stephensson can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Percy Whitley!
