Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Juancho Rivera!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rivera.

Mason drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mason jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mason decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rivera, up you get!

Rivera fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rivera throws the left hand but Mason avoids the punch easily.
Mason scores with a crisp jab that stopped Rivera in his tracks.
Rivera has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Juancho Rivera has been cut.

Juancho Rivera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mason is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rivera is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Mason is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rivera can do to turn this around?

Mason swings around for an armbar but Rivera sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mason's guard.

Mason pushes a forearm under Rivera's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Rivera is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

An out of breath Craig Mason thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
