Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Keith Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tupi Caqui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Keith Young! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tupi Caqui! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Francis DeMontford and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Caqui fails with the takedown and Young counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Young blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Young manages to break the clinch.
Young fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Caqui to the ground. Young is now in Caqui's guard. Young has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Young is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Young will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Young avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Young not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Caqui trying to keep a closed guard but Young is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Caqui escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Young gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's one minute gone in the round. Young showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Caqui working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Young doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Young manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Young with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Young wants to get up but he can't break Caqui's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Young sitting in guard, not really doing much. Young got a little sloppy there for a moment and Caqui has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Young has managed to get both his arms back between Caqui's legs - danger averted. Caqui has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Young can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Young really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Caqui looks winded! Caqui is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Young knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Caqui on the ground.

Caqui is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Young controls from within his opponent's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Caqui has momentary wrist control but Young slips an elbow through the middle. That's three minutes gone in the round. Young scoring with some ground and pound. Young engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Young's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Keith Young just wasn't active enough. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Caqui fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Young is trying to push Caqui away but Caqui has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Caqui prevents Young from breaking the clinch. Young manages to break the clinch.
Young moves into range and clinches up with Caqui. Caqui keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Young's efforts to push away. Young escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
No luck for Caqui with that takedown attempt. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Caqui tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Young counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Caqui changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Young tries to avoid it but Caqui manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Young to the ground. Young escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Young moves into the clinch. Young pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Caqui is looking to clinch. Young has taken the fight to the clinch.
Young works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Caqui looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Young sitting in guard, not really doing much. Caqui looking for a sweep. Not yet Caqui, not yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Keith Young. Caqui clinches up against the cage. Caqui is looking for a takedown. Young can't break the clinch.

Caqui goes for a takedown attempt but Young pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Keith Young has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tupi Caqui. Caqui is breathing heavily. Young looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Caqui!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Young lands a nice forearm strike. Young controls the position from side control. Caqui tries to get back to half guard but can't. Young decides to stand up, so the ref orders Caqui to his feet. Caqui shoots and misses and Young holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Young trying to stall but Caqui improves his position.
Caqui using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Young has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Young escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Young pushes Caqui up against the cage in a clinch. Young effectively controlling the action here. Young seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Caqui decides to pull guard. Young wants to stand but Caqui is controlling his posture from full guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Young controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Caqui looking to sweep here. No luck so far. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Young scoring with punches to the head and body. Young stands up from Caqui's guard - Young perhaps looking for a knockout. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Caqui takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Caqui is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Young pulls his head out easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Young is looking for a kimura but Caqui is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Young to get the leverage. Young keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Young prevents Caqui from improving his position. Young perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Keith Young overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

We're going to have a standup here because Keith Young wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Caqui tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Young closes the distance and clinches. Young is trying to trip Caqui. He has hold of a leg but Caqui is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Young persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! That's three minutes gone in the round. Young is stalling in the full guard. Young seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Caqui for as long as he can get away with. Caqui not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Keith Young is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. A knee to the head by Caqui.
