The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benedict instigates a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Patel's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Benedict lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Benedict tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Patel tries to circle away but Benedict has him pinned against the cage.

Patel changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Benedict fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Benedict is looking to clinch but Patel is avoiding it.
Patel moves in looking to clinch but Benedict pushes him off.
Benedict closes the distance and pushes Patel back into the cage.
Nice body punch from Benedict.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Patel has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Benedict scores with a shoulder strike.
Benedict is pressed up against the cage. Patel has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Benedict down to the mat. Benedict avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Nice uppercut lands for Benedict. That snapped Patel's head back.
Patel misses with a jab, cross combination.
Benedict throws an overhand right that has Patel reeling! Benedict follows up with more punches and Patel is out cold! This one is all over!
