Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Moses Stepp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Moon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moon has chosen Purple Haze - Jimi Hendrix as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Moses Stepp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eric Moon!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stepp has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Moon.
Moon dives in for a single leg takedown but Stepp sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Moon.
Stepp swings wildly with an uppercut but Moon uses good head movement to avoid it.

Moon drags the fight down to the ground.
Stepp wants to stand but Moon is controlling his posture from full guard.
Moon seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Stepp wants to get up but he can't break Moon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Moon pulls Stepp in close to prevent any damage.
Stepp would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Moon looking for a guillotine here but Stepp defends easily.
Stepp wanted to stand there but Moon had control of the position.

Moon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stepp defends well.
Stepp tries to stand but Moon is controlling from the bottom.
Moon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Moon is looking to advance position but Stepp won't allow it.

Moon seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Stepp is trying to escape back to his feet but Moon uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Moon decides to stand back up. Moon steps back and let's Stepp get back to his feet.

and Moon holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Stepp misses with the head strike.
Stepp can't break the clinch.
Stepp misses with a short punch on the inside.
Moon blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Moon is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Stepp is defending well.

Moon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Stepp wants to clinch

and Moon counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Stepp throws a head punch that misses.
Stepp tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Stepp.
Moon jumps guard but Stepp turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

The fight stays on the outside here - Stepp looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Moon drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Stepp gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Stepp looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Moon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Eric Moon will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

It looks like Moses Stepp has been cut.

Moon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Moon shoots for a double leg takedown but Stepp sprawls well. He's pushed Moon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Moon.

Stepp fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Moon, pushing him back against the cage.

Stepp tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stepp would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Stepp is looking to stand up but Moon won't let him.

Moon pushes Stepp off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

and Moon holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Moon manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Eric Moon has got the better of the ground game so far.

Stepp got a little sloppy there for a moment and Moon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stepp has managed to get both his arms back between Moon's legs - danger averted.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Moon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Eric Moon hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Moon is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Stepp tries to clinch up
and Moon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Stepp tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Moon counters with a head kick. That will keep Stepp thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
