Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Frederick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Barbosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barbosa has chosen Kick In the Door as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Frederick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hector Barbosa!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Daniel Cesar and Edson Gomes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbosa feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Frederick's calf.

Frederick darts in and clinches Barbosa up against the cage.
Frederick tries for a takedown. No joy.
Frederick misses with a body punch.
Barbosa putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Frederick in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Frederick jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Barbosa walks away with a smile on his face. Frederick gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Barbosa lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Barbosa connects with an inside leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Barbosa looks to land a combination but Frederick avoids it well.
Barbosa looks to land a body kick but Frederick moved away.
Frederick throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Barbosa sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Barbosa closes the distance and clinches.
Barbosa presses Frederick against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
A left hand lands to the body for Barbosa.
Frederick is breathing heavily.
Frederick drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Barbosa gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Frederick. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Frederick takes a knee to the side of the body.

Barbosa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Good leg kick by Barbosa there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barbosa cracks the inside of Frederick's front leg.
Paul Frederick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barbosa throws a hook but Frederick avoids it easily.
Barbosa lands with a kick to the temple. Frederick shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Paul Frederick has been cut.

Barbosa lands a big head kick that sends Frederick tumbling to the mat! Barbosa takes a step backwards and waves Frederick back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Frederick is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Barbosa lands with a nice body punch.
Oh Frederick is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Barbosa is looking to slow Frederick down with leg kicks.
Frederick takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Barbosa swinging wildly here.
Barbosa cracks Frederick with a hook to the temple - Frederick is on wobbly legs here! Barbosa swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Frederick falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Barbosa wins by TKO!

In his post fight interview, Hector Barbosa started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
