Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Gilbert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Calado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Gilbert! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miguel Calado! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gilbert throws a sloppy head kick and Calado moves out of range easily. Miguel Calado seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Calado looks to throw a body kick and Gilbert holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Gilbert tries to pull guard but Calado won't allow it.
Gilbert gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Calado is controlling Gilbert's position as best he can from this difficult position. Gilbert sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Calado defending well though. Calado trying to control but Gilbert postures up.
Calado regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Gilbert. Gilbert working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Gilbert missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Gilbert throws a strike but Calado rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Gilbert could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Calado not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Gilbert wants to control but Calado passes easily into half guard.
Calado content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Gilbert tries to get to full guard but Calado has control of the leg. Calado perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gilbert has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Calado is working away from the top position though. Calado working over Gilbert with some ground and pound. Gilbert looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Calado is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Calado wants to control but Gilbert is keeping him busy. Gilbert is trying to get back to full guard. Gilbert might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Still in half guard, Calado seems content to control. Gilbert knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Calado on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Calado moves nicely into side control. Gilbert is letting Calado control him for a moment. Calado is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gilbert knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Calado decides to stand back up. Calado steps back and let's Gilbert get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Calado closes the distance looking to clinch and Gilbert counters with a thumping low kick. Calado drives through and clinches with Gilbert against the cage.

Calado seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Gilbert postures up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gilbert working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Calado trying to keep a closed guard but Gilbert is proving a slippery customer.
Calado manages to escape and get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Miguel Calado dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Gilbert throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gilbert doesn't manage to clinch there - Calado circles away.
Calado lands a jab-cross combination. Gilbert lands with a slapping head kick. Calado shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gilbert as he jumps to the side. Chuck Gilbert is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Calado swings for the body but Gilbert moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round. Calado is looking to clinch. Gilbert tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Gilbert tries to close the distance and clinch but Calado swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Calado closes the distance and clinches up with Gilbert, looking for a takedown. Calado pushes Gilbert against the cage but Gilbert circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Calado shoots in and drives through. Gilbert sprawls well. Chuck Gilbert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miguel Calado. Calado has Gilbert up against the cage in a clinch.
Gilbert wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Calado escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Calado tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gilbert manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calado throws a sloppy head kick and Gilbert moves out of range easily. Gilbert closes the distance but Calado moves to the side and Calado counters with a solid body kick. Gilbert moves in looking to clinch but Calado pushes him off. Gilbert closes the distance and clinches. Gilbert is looking for a takedown. Gilbert jumps guard but Calado turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gilbert tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Calado smiles and moves away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Calado closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ground and pound from Calado. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Calado is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gilbert sees it coming and defends easily. Gilbert trying to control from the bottom.
Calado is nestled in close to Gilbert, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Gilbert is refusing to be controlled, as Calado sits in half guard. Calado controlling the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Miguel Calado hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Calado throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Gilbert stuffs the takedown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Miguel Calado showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

That's going to take a lot out of Miguel Calado. Calado shoots in for a takedown but Gilbert shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Calado fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Calado swats away the attempt to clinch by Gilbert. Gilbert fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Calado, pushing him back against the cage. Gilbert pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Calado thows a leg kick but Gilbert checks it and Gilbert counters with a good, hard body kick but Calado shrugs it off. Gilbert wants to clinch. Calado is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Gilbert throws a sloppy head kick and Calado counters with a right hand to the body. Calado will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Calado takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Calado shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gilbert eats them both and turns towards Calado to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Gilbert scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Gilbert tries to clinch but Calado moves away and Calado counters by moving into the clinch. Both fighters working to control the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calado is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Gilbert unloads a knee to the mid-section. Gilbert tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Calado just stands there and leans against the cage. Gilbert tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gilbert can't keep his opponent in guard - Calado advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Calado passes the guard and advances to mount! Calado is standing up, even though he is in mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Calado wants to clinch up but Gilbert keeps it at a distance. Calado is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gilbert's half guard. Gilbert wants to control but Calado is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gilbert is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Calado is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
We're going to have a standup here because Chuck Gilbert wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Calado throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Chuck Gilbert has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Miguel Calado is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
