Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Momoshiro Kitsune (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keiji Kawada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kitsune comes into the arena with 僕はミス・テイク~ blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 11 - 1, fighting out of London, Momoshiro Kitsune! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 16 - 1, fighting out of London, Keiji Kawada! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kitsune displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kawada. Kawada fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kitsune avoids it really well and circles away. Kitsune shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Kitsune missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Kitsune working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Kitsune takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Kawada punching from the bottom.
Kitsune frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Kitsune can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kawada is looking to escape. Kitsune has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kitsune looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kawada is desperately trying to improve his position but Kitsune has a good base and remains in mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kitsune is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kawada to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kawada shrugs it off. Kitsune avoids the attempt from Kawada to control. Kitsune looking to control and managing it successfully. Kawada really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Kitsune looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Kawada tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kitsune landing strikes from the mount and Kawada is in trouble! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Kitsune trying to control but he's not successful this time. Kawada is desperately trying to improve his position but Kitsune has a good base and remains in mount. Kitsune blocks Kawada's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Kitsune jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kawada manages to avoid the submission attempt. Kitsune cracks Kawada with a big elbow. Kitsune wants to control but Kawada is keeping him busy. Kitsune working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Kawada is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kitsune off and has taken his back! Our spies down at at SWF GYM - JUDO 'n' MMA inform us that Kawada has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Despite being in a bad position, Kitsune is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts. Kawada has the hooks in. Kitsune is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Kitsune turns into Kawada and is now in his guard.

Kitsune controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Kitsune lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kitsune stopping the sweep attempt from Kawada. Kitsune working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kawada's head. Kitsune slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Kitsune postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kawada is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kitsune, into his guard. Kitsune is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Kitsune is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kitsune is trying to control the action in half guard but Kawada is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Kitsune drops an elbow to the side of Kawada's head. Kitsune trying to control from half guard but Kawada is working away. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kitsune is working for a submission of some sort.
Kitsune landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kitsune performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Kawada makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kawada. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kitsune's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Kawada had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kitsune defends it easily. Kitsune connects with a couple of short punches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kawada misses with a takedown and Kitsune counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kitsune. Kitsune looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Kitsune trying to control but Kawada is working from the bottom. Kitsune passes into half guard. Kawada is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kitsune is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kawada defends it well. Momoshiro Kitsune overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kitsune looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Kawada makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kawada. That's one minute gone in the round. Kitsune is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Kawada working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kitsune doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kitsune manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Kawada is looking for a triangle but Kitsune pushes his legs off easily.
Kitsune controls from within his opponent's guard. Kawada is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kitsune is aware though and is defending well. Kitsune wants to control from the top but Kawada keeps moving.

We're going to have a standup here because Momoshiro Kitsune wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Kitsune stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kitsune wants it to stay on the feet. Kitsune throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kawada was covering up waiting for the punch and Kitsune finishes the takedown easily into guard. Kitsune seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kitsune wants to control from the top but Kawada keeps moving. Kitsune is working Kawada over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Kitsune trying to control but Kawada is working from the bottom. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kitsune is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kawada can do to turn this around? Kawada bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kitsune's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kawada looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kitsune is fending him off so far but Kawada persists. Nope, Kitsune circles away and we're back to standing. Kitsune shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Kitsune working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kawada's head. Kitsune passes Kawada's left leg - he's now in half guard. Kitsune frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Kitsune landing strikes from the mount and Kawada is in trouble! Kitsune with shots to the head and body - Kawada looks very uncomfortable down there. Kitsune with good strikes from the mount here! Kawada tries to reverse the position but Kitsune maintains control. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kitsune cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Kitsune wants to control the pace but Kawada is squirming around nicely. Kitsune lands with some strikes. A nice elbow there by Kitsune. Kitsune trying to control but he's not successful this time. Kawada is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Kitsune looking to control but Kawada is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kitsune looking to finish Kawada with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kawada! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kitsune landing strikes from the mount. Kitsune can't control as he wanted to and Kawada manages to get the fight back to his half guard. Kitsune is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kawada defends it well. Keiji Kawada has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kitsune is nestled in close to Kawada, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Kitsune looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Kitsune tries to pass to full mount but Kawada defends it. Kawada has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kitsune is working away from the top position though. Kawada is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kitsune's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kitsune's back! Kitsune is in bad spot here.

Kitsune throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kawada tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kitsune is in Kawada's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Momoshiro Kitsune showed his dominance in that final round. Well Kitsune has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
