Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki gets the takedown into side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Aoki working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Farmer avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Aoki.
Farmer wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Aoki tries to advance to mount but Farmer denies him.

Aoki wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Farmer, who protects the arm well.

Aoki lands a few punches from side control.

Farmer gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aoki is working for a guillotine from mount but Farmer frees his head quite easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Aoki jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Farmer manages to avoid the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shinya Aoki dominated that round.

Aoki looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Aoki is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Farmer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Aoki is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Aoki postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Shinya Aoki has got the better of the ground game so far.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Shinya Aoki hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Farmer tries a head kick but it misses.
Aoki bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Farmer is not content to let Aoki control the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Aoki has hold of Farmer's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Farmer manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Aoki goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Farmer turns into him and now he's in Aoki's guard.
Farmer is sitting in close to Aoki's body. Aoki has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Farmer is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Farmer is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Aoki.
