Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mark Miiler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mark Miiler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Anthony Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pettis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Miiler's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Miiler looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Anthony Pettis.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Miiler, right into the meat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Miiler is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pettis is just riding it out for now. Miiler eventually gives up the hold.

Miiler has gone for a leg lock! Pettis slips out almost immediately though and dives into Miiler's guard.

We've been informed that Pettis has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

That was a close round but I would say that Mark Miiler will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No luck for Miiler with that takedown attempt.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Miiler lands a nice short elbow.

Miiler is looking for a kimura but Pettis is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Miiler to get the leverage.

Anthony Pettis has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Miiler shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Miiler dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Pettis moves out of range as Miiler strikes.

Pettis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Miiler is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Pettis is looking to take a break and control but Miiler is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Miiler has one of Pettis's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
Miiler wants to control but Pettis postures up.
Pettis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Miiler keeps working.
Pettis might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Miiler haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Anthony Pettis hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mark Miiler.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Miiler, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
