Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tony Drago! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mahmud Magomedov! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drago tries to clinch up. Drago tries to clinch but Magomedov moves out of range. Drago moves into the clinch. Drago missing with knees to the body.

Magomedov is trying to drag Drago to the mat but Drago just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Drago throws a knee to the head but misses.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Magomedov takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Drago keeps control of Magomedov as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Drago throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Magomedov blocks it with crossed arms. Magomedov pulls guard effortlessly. Drago has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Magomedov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Drago would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Drago won't allow Magomedov to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Drago slips a jab and a cross from Magomedov.

Magomedov has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Drago misses with a knee strike.
Magomedov ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Magomedov no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Magomedov manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Drago knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Magomedov on the ground. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Drago is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. BOOM! Magomedov connects with a massive shot to the dome!
A nice elbow there by Magomedov. This has been an exciting period of action! Magomedov landing shots from mount. Drago is trying to stand up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Magomedov looking to control and managing it successfully. Drago is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Magomedov locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Drago is forced to tap!
