Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcus Fenix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Booker Block!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Block tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Block throws a head kick that misses.
Fenix moves in looking to clinch but Block pushes him off.
Horrible takedown by Fenix or perhaps it was just good defense by Block which made him look bad.
Block is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Block tries to clinch up.
Fenix moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fenix looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Fenix is breathing heavily.
Fenix closes the distance and clinches up with Block, looking for a takedown. Fenix pushes Block against the cage but Block circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Fenix. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice defenses there by Block.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Block tries to clinch up.
Fenix uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Block.

Block gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Block manages to break the clinch.
Fenix fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Block scores with a nice body kick.

Block moves into the clinch.

Block gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Fenix regains guard.
Fenix tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Block seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Block decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Fenix, up you get!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Block shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Block working for a guillotine from mount but Fenix is in no mood to give up.

Block is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Fenix is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Fenix flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Block anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Fenix and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Block slips an arm under Fenix chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Block has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Block is squeezing on Fenix like an anaconda would it's prey. Fenix fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Booker Block!
