Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jack Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Aluicious James!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scott shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Scott wants to pass the guard but James is defending well.
James is trying to get back to full guard.
James is trying to control but can't.
James won't allow Scott to pass to mount.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Scott content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scott throwing shots but James is blocking nicely.
James regains full guard. Nicely done.
Scott is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
James utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

James tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Scott wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

James shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Scott counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

James looking to hit a scissor sweep but Scott is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
James manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Scott wants to hold on but James pushes him away.
Scott is desperately trying to improve his position but James has a good base and remains in mount.
James can't control as he wanted to and Scott manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Scott is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Scott shoots in looking for a takedown. James tries to sprawl out of it but Scott keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. James manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jack Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

James has his foot on Scott's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Scott works his way back into a safe position though.

and Scott counters with a shoot takedown. James fights it but they end up in guard.
Jack Scott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aluicious James.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

James moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

James has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Scott can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Scott drops back looking for a leg! James is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and James manages to kick Scott off! Scott jumps back into James's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
James might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Scott kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Scott feints and as James raises his hands in defense, Scott changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

James controls Scott momentarily but Scott frees himself.
Scott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. James swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Scott has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

James has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Scott can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Scott drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Scott jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Scott tries to bum rush James with a series of wild strikes but James uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Scott darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Scott accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Scott looks to land a combination but James avoids it well.

James shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than James was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

James should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Scott is squirming around, avoiding James's attempts to control the action.
Poor strikes thrown by James there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Scott wants to hold on but James pushes him away.

Well Scott has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
