Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aron Higgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leo Bruce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce has chosen Migos-Y.R.H as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aron Higgins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leo Bruce!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruce misses with a double jab.
Higgins avoids a punch combination nicely.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Higgins lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bruce has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bruce and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Bruce rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Higgins moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bruce lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Aron Higgins has been cut.
Bruce throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Higgins counters by clinching up.

A frustrated look appears on Bruce's face as he tries to break the clinch.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bruce is looking to work some ground and pound but Higgins has wrist control.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Bruce working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Higgins holds on and takes a little breather.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Higgins wants to stand and escape but Bruce is having none of it.
Higgins really is a fat lump.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Aron Higgins.
Higgins stuffs the takedown attempt from Bruce. Bruce gets slowly back to his feet.
Bruce fails to land with a series of punches.

Bruce tries to bum rush Higgins with a series of wild strikes but Higgins uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Higgins closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Higgins stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Bruce to get to his feet.

and Higgins counters with a good, hard body kick but Bruce shrugs it off.

and Higgins counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bruce's guard now.

Bruce gets caught napping as Higgins dives in and scores a takedown. Bruce manages to retain guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Higgins stands up from Bruce's guard - Higgins perhaps looking for a knockout.

Bruce gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Higgins decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Higgins scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Higgins thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bruce's head.

Higgins stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bruce shoots in for a double leg but Higgins sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Aron Higgins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leo Bruce.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Higgins is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Bruce shoots in looking for a takedown but Higgins manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bruce's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bruce looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Higgins is fending him off so far but Bruce persists. Nope, Higgins circles away and we're back to standing.

Bruce decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Higgins controlling the position for now.
Higgins tries to kick Bruce off but Bruce keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Higgins trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Higgins manages to escape and get back to his feet!

and Higgins counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bruce's guard now.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Bruce manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bruce's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Higgins counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Higgins wants to stand but Bruce is controlling the position.

Higgins throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bruce throws a right hand that Higgins ducks under and follows up with a left that Higgins also avoids with ease.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Higgins pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bruce back to the cage. Higgins follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bruce is defended easily by Higgins.

Higgins shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Higgins stands up and beckons Bruce to join him on the feet.

Higgins throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bruce was covering up waiting for the punch and Higgins finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Bruce lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Higgins circles away quickly and effectively.

Aron Higgins showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Higgins, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
