Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Giovani Castro!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Bob tries to score a power double leg takedown but Castro sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bob somewhat.
Castro misses with an uppercut.
Castro stuffs the takedown attempt from Bob. Bob gets slowly back to his feet.
Bob looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Castro is fending him off so far but Bob persists. Nope, Castro circles away and we're back to standing.
Bob has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Castro enables Bob to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Castro manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Bob stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Castro swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Castro pushes Bob off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Bob closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Castro quickly recovers to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bob seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Bob is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Castro as he works his way to full guard.

Bob slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Castro wants to stand and escape but Bob is having none of it.

That was a close round but I would say that Billy Bob will probably get the nod.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Castro tries to kick Bob off but Bob keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Bob crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Castro - the referee stops the clock and Bob gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Castro. Bob manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
