Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Son Briggs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ben Potter! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Potter looking to score a takedown here. Briggs is defending well but Potter drives through and ends up in Briggs's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Potter wanted to stand there but Briggs had control of the position. Potter is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Briggs is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Briggs has escaped and now he's on top! Potter throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Briggs postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Potter looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Potter working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Briggs. Briggs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Briggs accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Potter working a defensive guard here.
Potter throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Briggs missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Briggs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Potter on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Potter looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Potter throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Briggs with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Briggs trying to control but Potter is working from the bottom. Potter working for a triangle but Briggs defends it easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Potter looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Briggs throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Potter works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Potter working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Briggs. Briggs has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Potter lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Briggs! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Potter takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Briggs is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Potter sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Briggs taps out!
