Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Damian Grabowski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Georges Lameson! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grabowski shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Grabowski has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Grabowski wants to control from the top but Lameson keeps moving. Lameson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Grabowski might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Grabowski controls from within his opponent's guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Grabowski trying to control but Lameson is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Damian Grabowski just wasn't active enough. Grabowski drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Grabowski cracks Lameson with a big right hand but Lameson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Grabowski tries to score with some ground and pound. Lameson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Lameson takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Grabowski is looking to take a break and control but Lameson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Grabowski decides to take the fight back to the feet. Grabowski throws a right hand that Lameson ducks under and follows up with a left that Lameson also avoids with ease. No luck for Grabowski with that takedown attempt. Grabowski takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grabowski dives in and scores a takedown into Lameson's guard. Lameson uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Lameson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lameson wants it to stay on the feet. Lameson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Grabowski shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Grabowski was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Lameson explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Grabowski stuffs the takedown attempt from Lameson. Lameson gets slowly back to his feet. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lameson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Grabowski is defending against the submission attempts here by Lameson.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lameson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Lameson has gone for a leg lock! Grabowski slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lameson's guard. Grabowski trying to control but Lameson is working from the bottom. Lameson uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Lameson shoots and misses and Grabowski counters with a stiff right hand. Damian Grabowski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Georges Lameson. Lameson stuffs the takedown attempt from Grabowski. Grabowski gets slowly back to his feet.

Lameson manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Lameson is looking for a takedown. Lameson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Grabowski is defending well. Lameson looks winded! Lameson is trying to trip Grabowski. He has hold of a leg but Grabowski is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Lameson persists though and gets the takedown into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Lameson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Grabowski looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Grabowski looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Grabowski! Grabowski wants to control but Lameson is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grabowski creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Lameson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Grabowski asserts his dominance and retains side control. Grabowski landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Lameson taking a bit of punishment here - Grabowski scoring with strikes. Grabowski takes a little break here. Lameson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Grabowski trying to control the action but Lameson is working from the bottom. Lameson throws Grabowski to one side and escapes! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Grabowski scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Grabowski prevents Lameson from standing back up.
Lameson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Grabowski scores with a couple of nice shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lameson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Grabowski to score an easy takedown into full guard. Grabowski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lameson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lameson pushes Grabowski off and gets back to his feet.
Grabowski is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lameson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Grabowski shoots in for a takedown but Lameson shows good takedown defense. Lameson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Grabowski circles away. Grabowski displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Grabowski scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Grabowski tries a head kick but it misses.
Nice sprawl there from Lameson as Grabowski shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Damian Grabowski. That's going to take a lot out of him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Grabowski is trying to control but can't.
