The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sagat tries to close the distance and clinch but Sosa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Grandmaster Sagat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sagat tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Sosa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Sagat is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Sosa throws an elbow but Sagat slips to the side and avoids it well.
Sagat is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sosa is controlling him well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sosa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sagat keeps working.
Sosa has an Americana. Sagat didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Sosa is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Sosa hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
