Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adirake Bhuvanath! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eli Gabriel! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bhuvanath tries to close the distance and clinch but Gabriel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bhuvanath wants to clinch up but Gabriel keeps it at a distance. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Bhuvanath tries to clinch but Gabriel moves out of range. Gabriel moves in looking to clinch but Bhuvanath pushes him off. Bhuvanath closes the distance but Gabriel moves to the side and Bhuvanath takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gabriel closes the distance and clinches up with Bhuvanath, looking for a takedown. Gabriel pushes Bhuvanath against the cage but Bhuvanath circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Adirake Bhuvanath seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gabriel shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bhuvanath pinned against the cage. Bhuvanath gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Bhuvanath looks to clinch and Gabriel counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gabriel. Gabriel trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bhuvanath on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bhuvanath tries to get out of the position. Gabriel throws a big right hand that misses. Gabriel trying to control but Bhuvanath is working from the bottom. Gabriel stops Bhuvanath from standing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gabriel throwing strikes from guard but Bhuvanath blocks nicely. Bhuvanath is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Gabriel tries to pull guard but Bhuvanath holds him up against the cage and eventually Gabriel drops back down to his feet.
Adirake Bhuvanath has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eli Gabriel. Bhuvanath stops a takedown attempt from Gabriel.

Bhuvanath connects with a nasty looking knee right to Gabriel's face.
It looks like Eli Gabriel has been cut. Bhuvanath unloads a knee to the mid-section. Gabriel lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Bhuvanath lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Gabriel pulls guard successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bhuvanath wants to get up but he can't break Gabriel's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Gabriel wants to hit a switch here but Bhuvanath passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Gabriel there! Gabriel is wriggling around trying to escape.
Gabriel bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Gabriel is pushing down on Bhuvanath's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bhuvanath is fighting to maintain full guard but Gabriel has managed to sneak the leg through. Gabriel passes to side control. Gabriel looks gassed! Bhuvanath is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Bhuvanath knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gabriel on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gabriel fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Gabriel throws an elbow but Bhuvanath slips to the side and avoids it well. Gabriel working the ground and pound but Bhuvanath is defending the strikes. Gabriel wants to control but Bhuvanath is keeping him busy. Bhuvanath bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Bhuvanath tries to clinch but fails miserably and Gabriel counters with a takedown into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eli Gabriel dominated that round. The cut man is working on Eli Gabriel's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Gabriel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. The fight stays on the outside here - Gabriel looks like he's thinking about clinching though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bhuvanath tries to clinch and Gabriel counters with a single leg into guard. Bhuvanath didn't expect that. Gabriel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bhuvanath swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bhuvanath avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Bhuvanath is controlling Gabriel's posture. Gabriel pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bhuvanath is keeping the position for now. Bhuvanath looking to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Gabriel missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gabriel circles away from the clinch attempt and Gabriel counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bhuvanath won't be happy with that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gabriel looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Gabriel tries to advance to mount but Bhuvanath denies him. Bhuvanath gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Gabriel wants to control the pace but Bhuvanath is squirming around nicely. Gabriel looking for a guillotine from mount but Bhuvanath is having none of it. Gabriel is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gabriel goes for an armbar but Bhuvanath turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Bhuvanath. Gabriel working for a triangle but Bhuvanath defends it easily.
Bhuvanath is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eli Gabriel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Eli Gabriel's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Wait, no, Bhuvanath rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gabriel's guard! Nice work there by Bhuvanath! Gabriel wants to sweep but no luck. Adirake Bhuvanath has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bhuvanath can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Bhuvanath stopping the sweep attempt from Gabriel.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gabriel looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Bhuvanath throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Gabriel wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Bhuvanath is now in half guard. Gabriel is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Eli Gabriel is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bhuvanath thows a huge punch but Gabriel dodges it nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Eli Gabriel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Gabriel winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
