Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Henley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chrisoff Lebene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lebene is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Go to Sleep-Eminem. Chrisoff Lebene will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lebene leaves Henley with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Lebene misses with a jab, cross combination.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Henley. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Henley misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Sloppy strikes there by Henley. Henley is putting a hurting on Lebene here, landing some big shots from side control. Lebene is trying to buck Henley off. Henley lands a decent elbow from side control. Lebene is trying to control Henley's posture but Henley avoids it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Henley tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Henley is chipping away with strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Henley working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Henley misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Henley tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Henley in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Henley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Henley works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Lebene defending against the ground and pound. Henley swings around for an armbar but Lebene sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Henley's guard. My spies in Bloodsport Gym 16 Elites inform me that Lebene has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Lebene must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Henley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lebene can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Henley working for a triangle but Lebene defends it easily.

Lebene postures up and lands a big shot to Henley's brow. Lebene throwing strikes but missing. Henley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lebene doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Henley is tightening it up a little... Lebene has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Lebene reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Lebene taps out! Nice BJJ there by Henley!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Ben Henley! Ben Henley really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Firebird Designs logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
