PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Great Cornholio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruise Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cornholio's entrance music is Du Hast by Ramstein - Cornholio Mix. A fine choice. Lee has chosen Mortal Kombat Theme as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Great Cornholio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bruise Lee!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee moves into range and clinches up with Cornholio.

Cornholio is trying to trip Lee. He has hold of a leg but Lee is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Cornholio persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Cornholio won't allow Lee to sweep him here.
Lee is wriggling around but Cornholio manages to pass to half guard.
Lee is trying to control but Cornholio manages to pass to mount!
Lee tries to hold on but Cornholio pushes him away.
Cornholio definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Cornholio is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lee to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lee shrugs it off.
Lee wants to control but Cornholio is having none of it.
Lee is wriggling around trying to escape.

Cornholio's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Cornholio is trying to control the action in half guard but Lee is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Great Cornholio just wasn't active enough.

Cornholio closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lee did well to prevent Cornholio getting side control.

Lee is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Cornholio scores with a couple of nice shots.
Lee is trying to escape back to his feet but Cornholio uses the scramble to pass into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lee is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Cornholio has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Cornholio wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lee, who protects the arm well.
Lee is looking to regain half guard here but Cornholio keeps moving and retains side control.

Cornholio tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cornholio has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Cornholio works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Lee tries to bench press Cornholio off him but Cornholio keeps the position.
Cornholio creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lee can do anything to dispel that myth.
A lull in the action here as Cornholio stalls from top position.
Lee bucks up and tries to throw Cornholio off but instead Cornholio has got his back!
Lee is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Cornholio.
Cornholio is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Lee up.
Cornholio gets his hands free as Lee looks to control.

Cornholio is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Lee defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Cornholio is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Cornholio is landing with strikes. Lee can't take much more of this.
Lee trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Cornholio has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cornholio connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Lee to escape the position.
Cornholio controlling the position well here. Lee rolled but Cornholio kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cornholio has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lee had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cornholio defends it easily.

Cornholio lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Lee wants to stand up but Cornholio is controlling him.
Lee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Cornholio gets to his feet - Lee follows without any prompting.

Cornholio has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Lee after a bit of a struggle.

Cornholio's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cornholio looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Lee tries to throw a body punch but Cornholio avoids it by throwing Lee back against the cage.

Lee ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lee no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Lee wants to stand but Cornholio is controlling the position.

Cornholio fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lee, pushing him back against the cage.

Cornholio has clasped his hands together around Lee's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lee tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cornholio wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Cornholio takes a little break here. Lee wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Cornholio shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Lee is looking to stand up but Cornholio isn't so interested in that idea.
Lee is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Cornholio's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Cornholio forces his way into half guard.

Lee is looking for a sweep. Cornholio is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Great Cornholio.

Cornholio is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lee to keep the fight standing.
Lee is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Cornholio is defending well for now.

Cornholio jumps guard and drags Lee to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Great Cornholio overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Cornholio kicks Lee off and gets to his feet.

Lee displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cornholio.
Cornholio takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Great Cornholio showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cornholio, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Bruise Lee was interviewed post fight and said 'Fuck Yo Couch. Kew. Kallyall.'.
