Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guy Cochrane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Anderson Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Guy Cochrane! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cochrane falls off balance throwing a combination
so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Cochrane has momentary wrist control but Jones slips an elbow through the middle. Jones wants to control from the top but Cochrane keeps moving. Cochrane working a defensive guard here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cochrane can do anything to dispel that myth. Jones controlling from the top position. Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Cochrane wants to stand but Jones is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cochrane looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cochrane is trying to control the position but Jones postures up.
Anderson Jones has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Cochrane drops Jones with a beautiful combination! Jones stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Cochrane is looking for the KO!
Jones is rocked!
It looks like Anderson Jones has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cochrane throws a head kick that misses. Jones dives in for a single leg takedown but Cochrane sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Cochrane tries to break free but Jones pushes him back against the cage. Jones keeps control of Cochrane as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Jones leaning against his opponent.
Cochrane is trying to push Jones away but Jones has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Jones leaning his opponent against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones breaks from the clinch.
Jones takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nice defenses there by Cochrane. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Cochrane. Cochrane lands with a shot to the body. Cochrane lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Jones rushes Cochrane and presses him up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is trying to pull guard but Cochrane turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cochrane tries to circle away but Jones has him pinned against the cage. Jones jumps guard and drags Cochrane to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Jones trying to control the position.
Cochrane wants to get up but he can't break Jones's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Jones looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Cochrane is stalling in the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones trying to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Jones takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Cochrane has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Jones is breathing heavily. Cochrane lands with a right hand. Jones takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. This has been an exciting period of action! Jones closes the distance but Cochrane moves to the side and Jones takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Guy Cochrane is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cochrane scores with a sloppy right hand. Jones should have avoided that one. Cochrane connects with a crisp jab. Oh Jones is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cochrane tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cochrane to the ground. Cochrane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Cochrane comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Jones seems to have got his legs back now. Cochrane throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jones stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Guy Cochrane dominated that round. The cut man is working on Anderson Jones's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Cochrane closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Jones out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Guy Cochrane!
