Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ross comes to the cage accompanied by Limp Bizkit-My way or the high way. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Ross! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pete Pettis! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ross throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Pettis counters with a low kick, right behind Ross 's knee. A head kick by Pettis misses and Ross counters with a nice body kick. Pettis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ross misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ross tries to clinch up but Pettis circles away and keeps his distance. Ross fails to land the takedown. Ross missing with a left hand there. Pettis was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Ross misses with a double jab.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Ross. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pettis looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ross blocks the body kick.

Ross tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pettis defends well and Ross ends up having to push Pettis into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Ross tries for a takedown but Pettis manages to get underhooks.

Pettis throws a leg kick and Ross counters with a body kick that stops Pettis in his tracks momentarily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ross moves in looking to clinch but Pettis pushes him off. Ross shoots in looking for a takedown. Pettis tries to sprawl out of it but Ross keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pettis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pettis gets caught flat footed, as Ross shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Pettis wants to stand and escape but Ross is having none of it. Pettis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ross. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ross postures up in Pettis's guard and throws a big left but Pettis blocks it.

The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Ross thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Ross working over Pettis with some ground and pound. Pettis looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Nice strikes from Ross there. Pettis has hold of Ross's hands but Ross slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Ross has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pettis keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ross not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ross missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Ross cracks Pettis with a big right hand but Pettis just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ross grinds an elbow into Pettis's temple. Ross creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Ross is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Pettis looks calm but he's in trouble here. Ross gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Pettis is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Ross lets go of the hold and Pettis can pop his arm back in it's socket.
