The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Spode. Reyes does a little dance to reset his feet.
Reyes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A jab from Spode finds it's way through Reyes's defenses.
Spode should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Spode misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Reyes.
Reyes shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Roderick Spode seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spode throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Reyes looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Spode changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Spode misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Reyes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Spode misses with a hook to the body

and Reyes counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Spode taking punishment in the form of punches.
Reyes scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Spode is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Reyes can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
