Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eden Hazard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Jones! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones lands with a slapping head kick.
It looks like Eden Hazard has been cut. Jones fails in his attempt to clinch. Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet. Jones connects with a right hand. Hazard shakes it off. Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hazard. A momentary lapse in concentration from Jones enables Hazard to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jones manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Hazard slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Jones tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Hazard sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Jones is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hazard controlling the position easily from mount. Hazard with the ground and pound from mount. Hazard scores with a couple of good head shots there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hazard with shots to the head and body - Jones looks very uncomfortable down there. Hazard trying to control but Jones is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones wants to try and get back to his feet. Hazard lands a heavy elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hazard working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Hazard landing punches. Hazard is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent. Hazard looking to control and managing it successfully. Hazard with shots to the head and body - Jones looks very uncomfortable down there. Hazard looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Hazard lands a heavy elbow. Jones tries to buck Hazard off but Hazard takes his back! Hazard really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Jones.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hazard is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Jones won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Hazard off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Eden Hazard! Eden Hazard seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
