Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between King Vasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kayso Nagase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nagase has chosen Seek and Detroy as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, King Vasquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kayso Nagase! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vasquez circles away from the clinch attempt and Vasquez counters with a right hand to the body. A momentary lapse in concentration from Vasquez enables Nagase to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Vasquez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Nagase sitting in guard, not really doing much. Vasquez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nagase is one step ahead there. Nagase working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Nagase won't allow Vasquez to sweep him here. Vasquez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Nagase stands up over Vasquez, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nagase throwing strikes but missing. Nagase slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Vasquez working for a triangle but Nagase defends it easily.
Nagase wants to control from the top but Vasquez keeps moving. Nagase seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Nagase is looking to stand up but Vasquez won't let him. Nagase is stalling in the full guard. Vasquez really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kayso Nagase wasn't active enough on the ground. Vasquez showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Nagase.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vasquez fails in his attempt to clinch. Vasquez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Vasquez leaves Nagase with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Horrible takedown by Nagase or perhaps it was just good defense by Vasquez which made him look bad. Nagase moves into range and clinches up with Vasquez. Nagase pulls Vasquez into guard.
Nagase being controlled here, momentarily. Vasquez is looking to work some ground and pound but Nagase has wrist control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasquez content to stall in guard here. Vasquez seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Nagase for as long as he can get away with. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up because King Vasquez just wasn't active enough. Nagase tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nagase has Vasquez up against the cage in a clinch.
Nagase wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Vasquez has him pressed against the cage. Vasquez manages to break the clinch.
Vasquez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nagase paws at him with a jab and circles away. Vasquez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nagase's waist but Nagase gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vasquez off to one side.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nagase shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vasquez as he jumps to the side. King Vasquez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kayso Nagase. Nagase shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Vasquez counters with a lovely shot to the body. Nagase looks winded! Nagase tries to clinch there but Vasquez circles away.
Nagase clinches. Nagase's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Good exchange - Nagase coming out on top. Vasquez takes the fight into the clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nagase jumps guard and drags Vasquez to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vasquez trying to control the position from guard on top but Nagase is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kayso Nagase dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Nagase moves in looking to clinch but Vasquez pushes him off. Vasquez tries to clinch but Nagase moves away and Nagase moves into the clinch. Nagase wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Vasquez has him pressed against the cage. Vasquez gets underhooks to prevent Nagase's takedown attempt.
Vasquez jumps guard but Nagase turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. A short uppercut from Vasquez. Nagase holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Vasquez is looking to break free of the clinch but Nagase has double underhooks. Nagase gets a trip takedown into half guard. Vasquez is trying to get back to full guard. Vasquez is staying active underneath Nagase, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Nagase lands a nice short elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vasquez trying to hold on to Nagase's head to control him but Nagase postures up.
Vasquez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Nagase decides to stand up. Kayso Nagase is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nagase tries to keep at a distance but Vasquez has taken the fight into the clinch. Nagase jumps guard but Vasquez stands there with Nagase around his waist. Nagase gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Nagase drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Vasquez gets the underhooks and prevents it.
King Vasquez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kayso Nagase. Nagase is breathing heavily. Nagase can't break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vasquez crunches a lovely knee into Nagase's ribcage. Nagase breaks from the clinch.
Nagase lands with a cross. Nagase tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vasquez was well out of range. Poor timing from Nagase. Nagase tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Vasquez swivels and escapes. Nagase looks for a takedown but Vasquez sprawls well. Vasquez forces Nagase back against the cage and clinches. Vasquez is trying to push Nagase away but Nagase has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nagase is trying to break the clinch but Vasquez is controlling him. Nagase gets through Vasquez's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Vasquez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasquez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nagase circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nagase throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Vasquez tries to clinch up. Nagase circles away from the clinch attempt.

Nagase looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vasquez is fending him off so far but Nagase persists. Nope, Vasquez circles away and we're back to standing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nagase has his takedown stuffed and Vasquez counters with a left to the body. Nagase avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Nagase throws a leg kick and Vasquez counters with a big head kick but Nagase shrugs it off. Vasquez closes the distance and pushes Nagase back into the cage. Vasquez blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

A close second round but Kayso Nagase will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Vasquez tries for a takedown but Nagase sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. A punch lands to the side of Vasquez 's head but he takes it in his stride. Nagase misses with a double jab
and Vasquez finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Nagase tries to close the distance and clinch but Vasquez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. The fight moves into the clinch position. Nagase blocking some punches.
Nagase tries to land knees in the clinch but Vasquez avoids the damage to the body. Nagase is trying to push Vasquez away but Vasquez has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Vasquez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Vasquez shoots in for a double leg but Nagase sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Nagase is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Vasquez keeps the fight on the outside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vasquez keeps the fight on the outside. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vasquez is defended easily by Nagase. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for King Vasquez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nagase closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vasquez circles away. Nagase takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Nagase's corner calls for a 1-2. Nagase obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Nagase will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Vasquez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nagase, pushing him back against the cage. Vasquez has Nagase pressed against the cage, preventing Nagase from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Nagase is trying to break the clinch but Vasquez is controlling him.

Nagase working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Vasquez. Vasquez throws an elbow that misses. Nagase uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Vasquez's guard. Nice move by Nagase! Vasquez controls Nagase momentarily but Nagase frees himself. Vasquez is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Nagase is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vasquez controlling the position. Nagase in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Vasquez keeping moving, preventing Nagase from controlling successfully. This has been an exciting period of action! Vasquez trying to keep a closed guard but Nagase is proving a slippery customer.
Nagase has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
King Vasquez has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Nagase has his takedown stuffed and Vasquez counters with a nice body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasquez forces Nagase back against the cage and clinches. Vasquez is trying to break the clinch but Nagase is controlling him. Nagase connects with a knee to the head.
Vasquez wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Vasquez lands a right hand. Vasquez wants to break the clinch but can't.
Nagase lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Vasquez backwards. Vasquez gets through Nagase's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Nagase manages to break the clinch.
Vasquez moves into range and clinches up with Nagase. Vasquez wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A right handed body shot lands from Vasquez.
Vasquez goes for a takedown attempt but Nagase pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Nagase tries to clinch but fails miserably and Vasquez counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Nagase is looking to clinch but Vasquez is avoiding it.
Vasquez closes the distance and clinches. Nagase lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Vasquez backwards. Nagase is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Vasquez pulls him back up using the underhooks. Vasquez breaks the clinch.
A head kick by Nagase misses and Vasquez counters with a good, hard body kick but Nagase shrugs it off. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vasquez is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Nagase is looking to clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to King Vasquez. I think Nagase has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
