Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dim Sung! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Damien Demento! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sung shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Sung was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Demento looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Sung is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Demento's shoulder. That is not cool. Sung's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We're going to have a standup here because Dim Sung wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Sung misses with a looping left. A telegraphed right hand from Sung misses the target. Sung misses with a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Demento avoids the body shot from Sung.
Sung tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Demento was well out of range. Poor timing from Sung. Sung misses with an uppercut. Demento saw that one coming. Sung throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Sung looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sung engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Sung stands and throws Demento's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here. Sung has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Sung has knee on belly and moves into mount. Sung controlling from the full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sung seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Demento for as long as he can get away with.
We're going to have a standup here because Dim Sung wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Sung moves into the clinch. Stalling in the clinch from Sung.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sung tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. A bit of stalling here from Sung.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dim Sung dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Sung uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Demento. Sung has managed to clinch.
Sung misses with the head strike.
Demento is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sung is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Demento to the mat. Demento regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Sung forces his way into half guard. Sung takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Demento is in trouble now - Sung has advanced to mount! Sung controlling from mount. Demento is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sung takes Demento's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Demento is in trouble. We've been informed that Demento has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Dim Sung overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Demento is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Sung.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sung working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Demento is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Sung has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Demento taps out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dim Sung! Dim Sung spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
