Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
28 - 22 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mitsuyo Maeda! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 39 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, All or Nothing! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Dmitry Maklakov and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maeda closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nothing did well to prevent Maeda getting side control. Maeda drops an elbow to the side of Nothing's head. Maeda not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Nothing has hold of Maeda's hands but Maeda slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Nothing is trying to maintain the position but Maeda is very close to passing his half guard. Maeda has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Maeda throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Maeda thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nothing's head. Maeda missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Nothing is trying to maintain the position but Maeda is very close to passing his half guard. Maeda thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Maeda wants to control but Nothing is keeping him busy. Maeda missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Maeda wants to take a breather but Nothing is having none of it. Nothing has his hands clasped together around Maeda's back. He's all about the action. Maeda looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nothing with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Maeda is trying to control the action in half guard but Nothing is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Maeda missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maeda thows a huge punch but Nothing dodges it nicely.

Nothing is rocked! Maeda looks to land a strike but Nothing avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nothing wants to sweep but no luck. Nothing trying to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maeda looking to sit in guard and control but Nothing gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Maeda wants to stand and escape but Nothing is having none of it. Maeda pulls Nothing in to control the position.
Mitsuyo Maeda has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Maeda shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Maeda showed some decent athleticism there.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Maeda throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Nothing to regain full guard. Maeda connects with a couple of short punches. Nothing is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Maeda missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Nothing trying to keep a closed guard but Maeda is proving a slippery customer.

Maeda trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Nothing seems to have recovered his senses. Maeda postures up.

Nothing must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Maeda wants to stand but Nothing is controlling the position. Maeda looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Maeda is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Maeda keeping full guard, as Nothing tries to pass.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Good standup being displayed there by Maeda as he connects with a hook. Maeda looking to score a takedown here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Maeda takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Maeda thows a huge punch but Nothing dodges it nicely.

Mitsuyo Maeda clearly takes that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Maeda shoots in and bounces Nothing off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Maeda advances to half guard. Maeda has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Maeda is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Nothing can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Maeda postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Nothing badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Maeda around the waist but Maeda pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Maeda is the winner by TKO! Maeda jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mitsuyo Maeda! Mitsuyo Maeda is the new bantamweight champion! Mitsuyo Maeda really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Milwaukee's Best 160 logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
