Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joel Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pawel Pawlak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joel Charles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pawel Pawlak! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Pawlak. Charles is trying to improve his position. A lull in the action here as Pawlak stalls from top position. Charles defending against the ground and pound. Charles tries to improve position but can't. Pawlak tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pawlak has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. An elbow from Pawlak crashes against the mat.

Pawlak gets the takedown into side control. Pawlak decides to stand back up. Pawlak shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Charles's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pawlak advances to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pawlak missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Pawlak shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Charles manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Pawlak showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Charles utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Pawlak controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Pawlak trying to control the position from guard on top but Charles is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Pawel Pawlak. Pawlak moves into the clinch. Pawlak lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Charles moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Pawlak with a flurry of punches that miss. Pawel Pawlak has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pawlak wants to control from the top but Charles keeps moving. Charles has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pawlak is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Charles. Pawlak taking a break here but Charles is having none of it and regains half guard. Pawlak wants to pass to mount but Charles is defending the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pawlak passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Charles! Pawlak tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pawel Pawlak showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Charles fails with an attempt to clinch.
Charles wants to clinch up but Pawlak keeps it at a distance. Pawlak manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Charles on his heels. He'll look to pass Charles's guard now, I'm sure. Pawlak engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Pawlak pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Charles is keeping the position for now. Pawlak is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Charles is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Charles has escaped and now he's on top!
That's one minute gone in the round. Charles loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Charles wants to control from the top but Pawlak keeps moving. Pawlak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Charles postures up.
Charles will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pawlak is looking to stand up but Charles isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Pawel Pawlak. Charles moves to clinch but Pawlak breaks away and Pawlak counters with a thumping low kick. Pawlak gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Pawlak gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pawlak is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Charles sees it coming and defends easily. Pawlak takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Charles is trying to control but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pawlak not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Pawlak is looking to stall here but Charles recovers full guard. Pawlak drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Charles dives on top into guard. Pawlak is trying to control the position but Charles postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Charles wants to get up but he can't break Pawlak's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Charles preventing the sweep. Pawlak is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Charles preventing the sweep.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Pawel Pawlak hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Pawlak decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pawlak is thwarting Charles's attempts to control the position. Joel Charles has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pawel Pawlak is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Pawlak seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Charles does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that's the end of the fight! Pawel Pawlak comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Pawlak has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
