Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 17 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcello Sanchez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Declan Duddy! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez gets the takedown into side control. Duddy pushes Sanchez away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sanchez gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Sanchez landing strikes. Sanchez tries to get to his feet but Duddy is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Sanchez in his guard. Sanchez is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at SWF GYM - JUDO 'n' MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Duddy wants to stand and escape but Sanchez is having none of it. Sanchez tries to free his leg and advance position but Duddy is retaining full guard. Sanchez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sanchez trying to control the position from guard on top but Duddy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sanchez is really struggling to control Duddy but he's trying to hold on to the position. Sanchez looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Marcello Sanchez wasn't doing enough on the ground. Sanchez feints and as Duddy raises his hands in defense, Sanchez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Sanchez tries for a takedown but Duddy circles away easily and Sanchez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Marcello Sanchez has been cut. Duddy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Duddy avoids the body shot from Sanchez.
Sanchez shoots in for a double leg but Duddy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Duddy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sanchez shoots for a double leg takedown but Duddy sprawls well. He's pushed Sanchez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcello Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Duddy throws a leg kick which misses Sanchez's front leg but catches the back leg as Sanchez tries to avoid it. Duddy moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Sanchez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Duddy defends well and Sanchez ends up having to push Duddy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Sanchez breaks the clinch.
Duddy bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sanchez's head backwards. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sanchez keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Sanchez checks a leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duddy swings and misses with a shot to the body and Sanchez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sanchez. Sanchez postures up in Duddy's guard and throws a big left but Duddy blocks it. Duddy is trying to keep Sanchez in close.
Duddy has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Sanchez has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Sanchez manages to break the clinch.
A telegraphed right hand from Duddy misses the target. Duddy keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sanchez gets a clinch. With the fighters up against the cage, Duddy throws an elbow but misses. Sanchez has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Duddy clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Duddy looking very determined here, making life difficult for Sanchez.
Sanchez working for a choke but Duddy is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanchez is trying to control but Duddy is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
Sanchez sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Sanchez thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Sanchez thowing shots but they're missing. Sanchez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sanchez tries to control but Duddy wriggling away. Sanchez looking to secure an arm triangle but Duddy defends it well. Duddy holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Sanchez tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Duddy tries to hold on but Sanchez postures up. Duddy is trying to escape the mount.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sanchez looking to control but Duddy is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcello Sanchez dominated that round. The cut man is working on Marcello Sanchez's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Sanchez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Duddy's waist but Duddy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sanchez off to one side. A punch combination from Duddy misses. Sanchez dodges the punch combination from Duddy.
No luck for Sanchez with that takedown attempt. Duddy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sanchez. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcello Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sanchez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Duddy as he jumps to the side. Sanchez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Duddy sprawls well. Duddy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sanchez gets slowly back to his feet. Duddy thows a body shot but no joy. Sanchez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Duddy's guard. Duddy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sanchez is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duddy is looking to stand up but Sanchez isn't so interested in that idea. Duddy manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sanchez is desperately trying to improve his position but Duddy has a good base and remains in mount. Sanchez is trying to stand. Duddy stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Sanchez's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Duddy connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Sanchez scrambles back to his feet. Duddy pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Duddy misses with a head kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Duddy throws a left that rocks Sanchez and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Duddy dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Sanchez regain composure!
Sanchez is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Duddy stands up and beckons Sanchez to his feet. Oh Sanchez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Duddy lands a big right hook! Sanchez looks hurt but is still standing! Duddy lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Sanchez falls down and Duddy dives in with a huge hammer fist! Sanchez's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Duddy runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Declan Duddy! A relieved looking Declan Duddy thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
