Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Devlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steven Walter is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jonathan Devlin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 20 - 2, fighting out of London, Steven Walter!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walter misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Walter has Devlin up against the cage in a clinch.

Devlin with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Devlin avoiding damage.

Devlin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Walter's efforts to push away.
Devlin lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Walter backwards.

Walter's coach down at SWF GYM - JUDO 'n' MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Walter's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Walter goes for a takedown attempt but Devlin pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Devlin creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Walter's defenses.

Walter has a closed guard, preventing Devlin from standing up.
Walter wants to get back to his feet but Devlin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Walter manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Walter wants the takedown. Devlin is fighting it off but Walter persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Devlin's guard against the cage.

Walter changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Devlin fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Walter turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Walter manages to end up in side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Walter is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
It looks like Walter might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

With the fighters up against the cage, Devlin throws an elbow but misses.

Devlin swings wildly with an uppercut but Walter uses good head movement to avoid it.

Walter drops down looking for an ankle pick but Devlin pulls his leg out and moves away.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Walter is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Devlin to keep the fight standing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Walter has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Devlin uses from the top position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jonathan Devlin.
I think Walter has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
