Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benson Hedges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Benson Hedges! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Gonzalez! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Bruno Lombardi and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gonzalez is looking to clinch. Hedges connects with a nice looking jab.
Jimmy Gonzalez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hedges getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Gonzalez slips a jab and a cross from Hedges.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Gonzalez breaks from the clinch.
Hedges tries for a takedown but Gonzalez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Gonzalez fails in his attempt to clinch. Hedges shoots in and bounces Gonzalez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Hedges postures up.
Gonzalez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hedges doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hedges manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonzalez throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hedges preventing the sweep. Hedges has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Gonzalez is trying to control the position but Hedges postures up. Hedges cracks Gonzalez with a solid left hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gonzalez pushes Hedges off and scrambles back to his feet.
Hedges throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gonzalez moves into the clinch. Hedges is trying to break the clinch but Gonzalez has him pressed against the cage. Gonzalez tries to pull guard but Hedges won't allow it.
Gonzalez tightens his grip and picks Hedges up, before dumping him to the ground. Hedges manages to land in guard. Gonzalez wants to stand but Hedges is controlling his posture from full guard. Gonzalez trying to control but Hedges is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gonzalez stopping the sweep attempt from Hedges. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Hedges bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gonzalez's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gonzalez keeping full guard, as Hedges tries to pass. Hedges trying to control the position from guard on top but Gonzalez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hedges is breathing heavily. Gonzalez trying to control the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gonzalez is on top in guard.
Gonzalez connects with a couple of short punches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Benson Hedges will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Gonzalez swings for the body but Hedges moves out of range.
A combination from Hedges does no damage. Gonzalez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Gonzalez misses with a head kick.
Hedges cracks Gonzalez with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Hedges misses with a wild body shot. Hedges tries a low kick but Gonzalez avoids it. Hedges tries to clinch but Gonzalez moves away and Gonzalez counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hedges's guard now. Gonzalez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hedges swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hedges looking for a sweep. Not yet Hedges, not yet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonzalez gets to his feet. Hedges looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Hedges looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Benson Hedges is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gonzalez lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Gonzalez misses with a takedown and Hedges counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gonzalez won't be happy with that. Gonzalez sneaks back into half guard. Gonzalez makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gonzalez. Hedges trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gonzalez preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hedges preventing the sweep. Gonzalez wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gonzalez has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hedges off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Hedges waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Gonzalez. Gonzalez tries to clinch there but Hedges circles away.
Gonzalez shoots in and drives through. Hedges sprawls well. Benson Hedges has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Gonzalez.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Gonzalez moves into range and clinches up with Hedges. Gonzalez prevents a takedown attempt there.
Gonzalez blocks a body shot from Hedges. Gonzalez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gonzalez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Gonzalez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Gonzalez looking to sit in guard and control but Hedges gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gonzalez is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Gonzalez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Hedges throws a lazy body kick and Gonzalez counters with a head kick. That will keep Hedges thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Hedges throws a big shot that misses. Hedges shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gonzalez counters with a head kick. Hedges throws a leg kick that is checked and Gonzalez moves into the clinch. Gonzalez breaks from the clinch.
Hedges with a body punch. A glancing blow. Hedges slips a jab and a cross from Gonzalez.
Hedges tries to clinch but Gonzalez moves away and Gonzalez counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Still in half guard, Gonzalez seems content to control. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hedges tries to roll over but Gonzalez keeps him under control. Gonzalez is thwarting Hedges's attempts to control the position. Gonzalez passes the guard and advances to mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Gonzalez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Gonzalez gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Gonzalez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Gonzalez sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hedges keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Gonzalez is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hedges trying to hold on to Gonzalez's head to control him but Gonzalez postures up.
Gonzalez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Let's hope that Gonzalez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
And that's the end of the fight! Jimmy Gonzalez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Gonzalez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
