Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alfonzo Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Kreska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alfonzo Carver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Kreska!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kreska shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Carver as he jumps to the side.
Carver leaves Kreska with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Carver counters with a series of strikes. Kreska will be more careful next time no doubt.
Alfonzo Carver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Kreska.

Carver decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Carver seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kreska for as long as he can get away with.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Carver is working Kreska over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Kreska really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carver. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kreska doesn't manage to clinch there - Carver circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kreska fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Carver manages to avoid it.

Carver shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Carver was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Kreska is trying to control Carver's posture but Carver avoids it.
The referee asks Carver politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Carver prefers to stall for the moment though.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
