PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Doug Pattersson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Slate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pattersson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Banana song Peel Banana. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Slate!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slate shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pattersson defends it nicely.
Slate will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Slate slips a jab and a cross from Pattersson.
Slate throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Slate takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Slate throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Pattersson closes the distance and clinches.

Pattersson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Slate is trying to keep an underhook but Pattersson manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Slate is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slate is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Pattersson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Pattersson wants to free his trapped foot but Slate is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pattersson thows a huge punch but Slate dodges it nicely.
Pattersson slips a nice elbow through Slate's hands, connecting with Slate's forehead.

Slate is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pattersson pulls his head out easily.
Pattersson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Pattersson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Slate with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Slate trying to hold on to Pattersson's head to control him but Pattersson postures up.
Pattersson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Pattersson stops Slate from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Slate on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Pattersson wants to take a breather but Slate is having none of it.

Slate is looking to escape.

Slate is not content to let Pattersson control the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pattersson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Slate is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pattersson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Pattersson stops Slate from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Slate takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Slate wants to clinch.

Slate is rocked!

Pattersson lands a huge takedown. Slate is out but the ref is slow to react and Pattersson lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Slate lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Doug Pattersson!
