The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodquivez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Van Beethoven moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A shot to the body from Rodquivez misses
and Van Beethoven counters with a stiff right hand.
Van Beethoven uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rodquivez.
Rodquivez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rodquivez misses with a straight left.
Van Beethoven throws the left hand but Rodquivez avoids the punch easily.
Van Beethoven lands a jab-cross combination.
We've been told by Van Beethoven 's head coaches at Nelson Fight Camp that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
No joy there for Rodquivez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A lazy left from Van Beethoven finds it's target.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rodquivez rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Van Beethoven counters with an inside leg kick.
A nice inside leg kick there by Van Beethoven . That's going to slow Rodquivez down.
Van Beethoven scores with a jab. Rodquivez acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Van Beethoven lands a jab.
Van Beethoven thumps Rodquivez with a low kick.
Van Beethoven keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Van Beethoven lands a slapping body shot.
Rodquivez looks winded!

Van Beethoven thows a body kick. Rodquivez tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Van Beethoven cracks the inside of Rodquivez's front leg.
Rodquivez tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Van Beethoven tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Van Beethoven lands with a kick to the ribs.

Van Beethoven sends Rodquivez crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Van Beethoven is motioning to the referee to let Rodquivez up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

It looks like Scorpio Scottt Rodquivez has been cut.
A good leg kick by Van Beethoven .
Van Beethoven lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Van Beethoven throws a shot to the body.

Van Beethoven feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Rodquivez sprawling to the canvas! Rodquivez rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Van Beethoven finish him?!
Rodquivez is still on wobbly legs! Can Van Beethoven finish him?
Van Beethoven flashes Rodquivez a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Rodquivez's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Rodquivez crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Van Beethoven punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Wolfgang Van Beethoven !
Wolfgang Van Beethoven made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'Thank you thank you! You were a wonderful audience! '.
