Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Remy Lava (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Papale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lava comes into the arena with Numero 1 blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Remy Lava! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ricky Papale! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lava stuffs the takedown. Papale gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Lava is in close to Papale's body, working some short punches and elbows. Papale not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lava slips nicely into half guard. Lava is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Lava has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lava is looking to advance position but Papale won't allow it. Lava is nestled in close to Papale, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Lava postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Papale to stand up. Papale looks gassed! The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Papale can't get the takedown.

Lava ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Papale moves away. Ricky Papale seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lava darts in and clinches Papale up against the cage. Lava is trying to trip Papale. He has hold of a leg but Papale is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Lava persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Lava sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lava drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lava jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Papale is trying to hold Lava in close to prevent damage but Lava has managed to pass into half guard.
Well, if Lava is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Papale trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Lava manages to pass to mount!
Lava tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Papale keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Lava working Papale over with strikes here. Lava cracks Papale with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Lava looking to finish Papale with some ground and pound. This is bad for Papale! Lava takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Lava has control of Papale's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Papale regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Lava lands a big elbow. Lava controlling the position easily from mount. The referee warns Papale that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Remy Lava dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Lava throws a head kick that Papale semi-blocks.
It looks like Ricky Papale has been cut. Lava clinches up against the cage. Lava ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lava no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Papale is sitting in close to Lava's body. Lava has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Papale is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Papale is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Lava.
