Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Duddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timo Takka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duddy comes to the cage accompanied by Dropkick Murphys - 'Loyal to No One'. Takka has chosen Kavinsky - Nightcall as his entrance music. Timo Takka will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

With a record of 20 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Timo Takka !

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duddy misses with a low kick.
Takka lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Duddy lands with an overhand left.
Takka throws a hook but Duddy avoids it easily.
Takka missing with a left hand there. Duddy was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Takka lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Takka avoids the head kick by Duddy.
No joy there for Duddy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Takka looks to land a right hand but Duddy moved out of range.
Takka missing with a left hand there. Duddy was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Takka slips a straight right by Duddy.
John Duddy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've been hearing reports that Duddy has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Takka tries to work over Duddy's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Takka tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Duddy goes for a takedown attempt but Takka pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Duddy scores with a head kick. Takka tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Takka lands a glancing blow to the side of Duddy's head.


It looks like John Duddy has been cut.
Takka takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Takka tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Duddy cracks the inside of Takka 's front leg.
Duddy fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Takka .

Takka walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Takka throws a hook to the side of Duddy's head but Duddy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Takka has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Duddy wants to slow Takka down by chopping away at his legs.

A lazy left from Takka finds it's target.
Duddy turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Duddy fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Takka has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Takka throws a leg kick but Duddy sees it coming and moves out of range.

Duddy is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Takka tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Duddy avoids it.

Duddy misses with some punches.

Duddy breaks the clinch.
Duddy moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Duddy.
Duddy moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Duddy lands a left hand.
Takka misses with a knee strike.

Duddy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Takka pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Duddy tries to close the distance and clinch but Takka swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Takka looks to land a left hand but Duddy moved out of range nicely.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Takka misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Duddy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Takka displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Duddy throws out the jab.
Duddy pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Takka back to the cage. Duddy follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Duddy feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Takka 's calf.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Duddy dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Duddy's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Duddy throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Duddy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Duddy wants to slow Takka down by chopping away at his legs.
Duddy defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Takka .
Takka throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Takka might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Duddy tries to clinch but Takka moves out of range.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Duddy lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Takka has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Takka and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Takka tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Duddy lands a nice looking kick to the body. Takka takes a step back to recover.
Duddy is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Duddy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Takka manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Takka fails to land with a series of punches.
Duddy throws a right and a left that both miss.
John Duddy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Duddy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Takka as he avoids it easily.

Duddy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Takka paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Takka closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Duddy quickly recovers to half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Duddy is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Takka is surviving well by controlling Duddy's body position as best he can.

Takka is trying to defend against the choke here but Duddy has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Duddy Tightens the hold and Takka taps out furiously! Duddy displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
