Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corwin Anstey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lee Combline! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Combline uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Anstey. The fight stays on the outside here - Combline looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Combline swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Anstey counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Combline throws a jab when Anstey was well out of range. Combline falls off balance throwing a combination
and Anstey counters with a nice uppercut. A combination from Combline does no damage. Anstey throws a right and a left that both miss. Combline looks to clinch and Anstey counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Anstey slips a jab and a cross from Combline.
Anstey cracks Combline with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Combline looks for a takedown but Anstey sprawls well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anstey circles away from the clinch attempt and Anstey counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Combline tries to clinch but Anstey moves away and Anstey counters with a lovely straight right hand! Combline with a poor takedown and Anstey counters with a stiff right hand. Combline tries to clinch up letting Anstey counter with a right hand. Combline's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Combline duly obliges. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Combline wants to clinch but Anstey slips to the side and Anstey counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Combline is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anstey misses with the combination.
Combline is still on wobbly legs! Can Anstey finish him? Anstey is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Combline hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Corwin Anstey! Corwin Anstey took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
