Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Gates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tommy Jones will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Gates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Tommy Jones!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gates fails with a takedown attempt.
Jones slaps away a takedown attempt from Gates, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Gates shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Gates. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gates drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but Gates is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gates. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gates is in close to Jones's body, working some short punches and elbows.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Gates is trying to control. Jones wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gates fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away.
Jones tries to clinch but Gates is having none of it.

Gates darts in looking for a takedown but Jones gets double underhooks and turns Gates into the cage.

Jones lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Gates goes for a takedown in the clinch but Jones prevents it.

Gates has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Jones clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Gates is hanging on to Jones's back as he tries to escape.
Gates gets his hands free as Jones looks to control.

Gates sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Jones taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jack Gates!
