Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Osvaldo Floyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Berend Bouma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Berend Bouma will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Osvaldo Floyd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Berend Bouma!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bouma scores with a takedown into Floyd's guard.
Bouma looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Floyd is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bouma won't allow Floyd to sweep him here.

Floyd might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Floyd could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Osvaldo Floyd.

Floyd changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bouma looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The referee asks Floyd politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Floyd prefers to stall for the moment though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Floyd tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Floyd creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Bouma sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The referee asks Floyd politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Floyd prefers to stall for the moment though.

Floyd wants to control but Bouma is keeping him busy.

Floyd throws a strike aimed at the side of Bouma's head but Bouma avoids it well.
Floyd is looking to take a break and control but Bouma is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Floyd decides to stand back up. Floyd steps back and let's Bouma get back to his feet.

Floyd fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Floyd moves into the clinch.

Floyd has hold of one of Bouma's legs. Bouma is fighting the takedown attempt but Floyd gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Osvaldo Floyd wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Bouma closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Floyd quickly recovers to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Bouma shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Floyd's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Floyd tries to land a front kick but Bouma steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Bouma has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We're going to have a standup here because Osvaldo Floyd wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A lazy body kick from Bouma
and Floyd counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Bouma tries to sprawl but Floyd drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Bouma is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bouma wants to control but Floyd is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Floyd seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bouma does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Floyd is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bouma is just riding it out for now. Floyd eventually gives up the hold.
Osvaldo Floyd overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Floyd wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bouma keeps working.

Floyd lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Floyd dives in and grabs Bouma's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bouma pushes down on Floyd's head and hops out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bouma is pressing down on Floyd's thigh, looking to free his foot. Floyd is holding on for now.
Bouma prevents Floyd from improving his position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Floyd tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Floyd is controlling Bouma's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Floyd shoots in for a double leg but Bouma sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Floyd shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bouma as he jumps to the side.

Bouma darts in and clinches Floyd up against the cage.

Bouma is trying to maintain a safe position but Floyd gets an underhook and turns Bouma into the cage.
Floyd is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bouma to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Osvaldo Floyd. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Floyd wants to control the position but Bouma says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Bouma tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Floyd flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Berend Bouma hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Floyd takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Floyd fails with a takedown attempt.
Bouma misses with a series of wild punches.

Bouma fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Floyd sprawls well initially but Bouma persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Floyd tries to roll over but Bouma keeps him under control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Floyd has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bouma is working away from the top position though.
Berend Bouma has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Osvaldo Floyd is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Berend Bouma.
Well Floyd has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
