Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vin Ner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Gallo! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ner closes the distance and clinches. Ner misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Gallo.
Gallo blocks the elbow strike.
Ner breaks from the clinch.
Gallo throws a nice head kick!
Ner darts in and clinches Gallo up against the cage. Gallo tries to pull guard but Ner won't allow it.

Ner is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Ner looking for a guillotine here but Gallo defends easily.
Ner can't keep his opponent in guard - Gallo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Ner is pressing down on Gallo's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Ner had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gallo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ner Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gallo's back instead. Ner connects with a big shot to the side of Gallo's head.

Ner working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Ner is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Gallo knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Gallo for a finish. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ner gets his hands free as Gallo looks to control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Gallo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ryan Gallo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ner shoots in looking for a takedown. Gallo tries to sprawl out of it but Ner keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gallo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ner scores with a takedown into Gallo's guard. Ner is working for a kimura but Gallo is defending it quite comfortably.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ner tries to land knees in the clinch but Gallo avoids the damage to the body. Gallo can't get the takedown.
Gallo has Ner pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ner manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Vin Ner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Gallo. Gallo avoids a wild elbow strike from Ner. Ner throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Ner shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gallo's guard. Ner is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Ner slips nicely into half guard. Ner swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Gallo is now in Ner's guard. A big mistake from Ner there, giving up the dominant position! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Ner can't keep his opponent in guard - Gallo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Vin Ner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gallo thows a huge punch but Ner dodges it nicely.
Ner looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Gallo has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Gallo stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Gallo throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Ner's head.

That was a close second round but I would say that Vin Ner will probably get the nod. That's time! Ner's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Gallo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gallo! Ner is looking to reverse the position. Gallo stands up and beckons Ner to his feet. Gallo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ner fails with a takedown attempt. A punch combination from Gallo misses. Gallo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Ner is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gallo has escaped the position, nice work there.

And that's the end of the fight! Vin Ner showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ner, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
