Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Mata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Mmachi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mmachi is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Can't Keep Still by KPM Music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Christopher Mmachi! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mmachi fails with a takedown attempt. Mata could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Mmachi has a takedown stuffed. Mata closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Mmachi has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mata after a bit of a struggle. Jonathan Mata has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Christopher Mmachi. Mmachi works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Mata looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Mata manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mmachi manages to get himself to full guard.
Mmachi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mata. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mata gets to his feet - Mmachi follows without any prompting. No joy there for Mata, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sloppy strikes from Mata. Those never looked like landing. Mata tries to clinch but Mmachi moves out of range. Mmachi shoots in looking for a takedown but Mata manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mmachi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mmachi looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Mata is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mata is working hard here to advance position. Mata looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mmachi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Mmachi with a flurry of punches that miss. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mmachi is looking to work some ground and pound but Mata has wrist control. Mata doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Mmachi drops back looking for a leg! Mata is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mata manages to kick Mmachi off! Mmachi jumps back into Mata's guard. Mmachi trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Mata is breathing heavily. Mmachi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mata not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mmachi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mata is keeping the position for now. Mata avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mmachi stops Mata from standing up. Mmachi postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Mata looking for a sweep. Not yet Mata, not yet. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Mmachi working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mmachi stands and steps away. Mata gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Mmachi shoots in for a takedown but Mata shows good takedown defense. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mmachi shoots in but Mata avoids the takedown attempt easily. Mmachi shoots in looking for a takedown. Mata tries to sprawl out of it but Mmachi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mata manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Mmachi has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Mata is landing a low percentage of strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mata gets caught napping as Mmachi dives in and scores a takedown. Mata manages to retain guard. Mata controls Mmachi momentarily but Mmachi frees himself. Mmachi trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Mata working a defensive guard here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Mmachi postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Mmachi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mmachi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Mmachi scoring with some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mmachi throwing strikes but missing. Mata wants to stand but Mmachi is controlling the position. Mmachi working some strikes from top position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mmachi is looking to stand up but Mata won't let him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mmachi connects with a couple of short punches. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mmachi trying to control but Mata is working from the bottom. Mmachi wanted to stand there but Mata had control of the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christopher Mmachi dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mata stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mata wants it to stay on the feet. Mata is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Mmachi shoots in looking for a takedown. Mata tries to sprawl out of it but Mmachi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mata manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Mata fails with a takedown attempt. Mata moves into the clinch successfully.

That's going to take a lot out of Christopher Mmachi. Mmachi drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mata pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mata tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mmachi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Mmachi tries for a takedown but Mata sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Mmachi fails with the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mata shoots in for a takedown but Mmachi shows good takedown defense. Mmachi is breathing heavily. Mmachi misses with a takedown attempt - Mata sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Mata slaps away a takedown attempt from Mmachi, before circling back to the center of the mat. Jonathan Mata is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mata tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mmachi defends well and Mata ends up having to push Mmachi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Mata drags the fight down to the ground.
Mata pulls Mmachi in to control the position. Mata is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mmachi defends well. Mmachi scoring with punches to the head and body. Mata wants to sweep here but Mmachi controlling him for the moment.

Mmachi lands a couple of decent looking shots. Mmachi wants to control from the top but Mata keeps moving. Mmachi wanted to stand there but Mata had control of the position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mata is trying to control the position but Mmachi postures up. Mmachi tries to stand but Mata is controlling from the bottom. Mmachi tries to free his leg and advance position but Mata is retaining full guard. Mata avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mata looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mmachi is one step ahead there. Mmachi passes into half guard. Mmachi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mata doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mmachi. Mmachi lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Mmachi wants to work for an arm triangle but Mata is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mmachi working over Mata with some ground and pound. Mata looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Christopher Mmachi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Mmachi closes the distance looking for a takedown. Mata stuffs it but Mmachi still has hold of him. Mmachi picks Mata up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Mmachi slams Mata to the floor and that's really hurt Mata - he doesn't know where he is! Mmachi throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
