Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Phoenix Templar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raul Portugis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raul Portugis is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Portugis connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Raul Portugis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Templar takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Portugis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Templar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Templar wants to control but Portugis postures up.
Portugis working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Portugis sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Templar is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Templar takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Portugis drops Templar with a huge uppercut! Templar drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Portugis is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Raul Portugis!
During a confident post fight interview, Raul Portugis thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
