The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Humphrey drives through with a takedown into guard.

Humphrey leaves Bones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Humphrey has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Bones looks to clinch

and Humphrey counters with a single leg into guard. Bones didn't expect that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Humphrey is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Bones is working an open guard so Humphrey takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Bones tries to land a front kick but Humphrey steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Humphrey stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Humphrey wants it to stay on the feet.

Bones throws a half hearted mid kick.

Humphrey fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bones sprawls well initially but Humphrey persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Humphrey stands up out of the half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Bones has his takedown stuffed

and Humphrey counters by clinching up.
Bones has had enough of the clinch but Humphrey keeps him there for the moment.

Humphrey has hold of one of Bones's legs. Bones is fighting the takedown attempt but Humphrey gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Humphrey gets to his feet - Bones follows without any prompting.
Bones misses with a head kick.
Bones goes for a double leg but Humphrey avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Humphrey continues to drive forward.

Humphrey breaks from the clinch.

Humphrey shoots in and bounces Bones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Bones throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Humphrey escapes and throws Bones's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Bones is breathing heavily.

Bones trying to remain calm as Humphrey controls from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Humphrey decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Bones tries for a takedown but Humphrey circles away easily

and Humphrey counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bones won't be happy with that.
Marcel Humphrey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Bones.

Humphrey is working to tighten his grip on Bones's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Bones has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Humphrey is really squeezing tight and eventually Bones passes out! Humphrey breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
