Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mach II (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hitesh Rafferty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). II comes to the cage accompanied by Ace of Spades. Rafferty has chosen hayden calnin as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mach II!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hitesh Rafferty!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

II feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
II's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Rafferty looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Rafferty wants to stand and escape but II is having none of it.
Rafferty is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mach II wasn't doing enough on the ground.

II shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rafferty napping and manages to drive through into side control!
II gets to mount! Rafferty was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Rafferty avoids a series of strikes thrown by II.

Poor strikes thrown by II there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
II sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

II throws some wild stikes that Rafferty manages to avoid easily.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rafferty can do anything to dispel that myth.
II postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rafferty looks a forlorn figure.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rafferty's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Rafferty has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of II's lack of action.
II controlling the pace.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
II looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

II has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rafferty is squirming around, avoiding II's attempts to control the action.
II throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Rafferty because II loaded up on that one.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This has been an exciting period of action!

II is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by II!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Mach II!
Mach II took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'I am battle ready. If I lose a fight I will terminate myself. I am here to die or be Champion. To you this island is hell. This island means pain and to me, pain is really good.'.
In defeat, Hitesh Rafferty stepped up to the mic, saying 'The ref screwed me, i got poked in the eye, kicked in the nuts, a finger up my bum and the ref did nothing. I Demand a rematch'.
