The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from McKenna.

McKenna rushes Lucas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

McKenna pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

McKenna gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lucas to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Lucas tries to stand but McKenna is controlling from the bottom.

Lucas won't allow McKenna to get back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Cyrus Lucas just wasn't active enough.
Lucas shoots in for a takedown but McKenna shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
McKenna drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lucas gets the underhooks and prevents it.

McKenna pulls Lucas into guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Cyrus Lucas.

McKenna shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lucas is trying to defend but McKenna finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

McKenna is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lucas doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McKenna.

McKenna seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lucas does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

McKenna jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Lucas is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Lucas and McKenna has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Well McKenna has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
